Employee Assistance Program
What is an Employee Assistance Program?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a workplace benefit program designed to support employees facing personal or professional challenges that may impact their wellbeing and job performance. EAPs typically offer confidential counselling services via telehealth (phone or video) to help employees address issues such as stress, mental health concerns, family problems, substance abuse, financial difficulties, and other personal challenges.
What are the benefits of an EAP?
-
Enhanced wellbeing: EAPs support employee mental health, reducing stress and improving overall wellbeing.
-
Increased productivity: By addressing personal challenges, EAPs contribute to higher job performance and efficiency.
-
Positive work culture: EAPs demonstrate a commitment to employee welfare, fostering a supportive and positive workplace environment.
-
Cost savings: Early intervention can prevent issues from escalating, reducing absenteeism and turnover costs.
-
Improved employee satisfaction: Access to counselling and support enhances job satisfaction and loyalty among employees.
What are the cost benefits?
By providing timely support for personal and work-related challenges, EAPs can help prevent or mitigate the negative impact of these issues on employee performance. This can help reduce absenteeism, lower turnover rates, and improve overall job satisfaction. Research indicates that every dollar invested in EAPs can yield a return on investment ranging from $3 to $10 or more, considering benefits like increased productivity and reduced healthcare costs.
How does it work?
As an EAP partner with Anchor Health, we’ll provide you and your team with access to low-cost mental health and emotional health sessions with our team of professional counsellors, as well providing the wider business with mental health education. Many of our EAP partners celebrate the impact we make on their business and the work we do together within the community by using our partner logo on their websites, marketing material, quoting, invoicing, and more.
